지휘자 이동호는 오스트리아 린츠 주립 브루크너 음악대학 및 대학원 최고학위 과정을 지휘 및 작곡으로 졸업하였다. 이후 경남오페라단 초대지휘자 및 창신대학교 음악과 겸임교수를 역임하였다. 또한 마산시립교향악단 제3대 상임지휘자 및 제주도립교향악단 제2대 상임지휘자로 재직하는 동안 국내 중심 교향악단으로 발돋움 하는데 큰 역할을 하였다는 평가를 받고 있다.
국내 활동으로 KBS교향악단, 서울시향, 코리안심포니, 부산시향, 인천시향, 수원시향, 대전시향, 대구시향, 광주시향 등 100여회 국내 주요교향악단을 객원 지휘하였고, 국외 활동으로는 폴란드 키엘체필하모니, 체코 프라하심포니, 불가리아 바르나필하모니, 러시안필하모니 등 수십 여회 세계 우수의 교향악단과 중국 베이징 윈드오케스트라, 대만 타이베이 윈드오케스트라 등 여러 나라의 주요 윈드오케스트라도 객원 지휘하였다.
1990년부터 서울예술의전당에서 주최하는 교향악축제에 17회 참가하였고 1995년에는 교향악축제가 낳은 최고의 지휘자라는 평가를 받기도 하였으며, 2000년과 2002년에는 개막연주를 지휘하였다. 2005년부터 대한민국 국제음악제에 제주도향과 함께 수회 참가하였고 예술의전당 주최 11시콘서트 베스트클래식에 고정 출연하여 국내 주요 교향악단을 객원 지휘 하였다.
1995년 6인 음악비평가선정 <제1회 오늘의 음악가상>, 2005년 한국음악협회 선정 <한국음악상 본상>, 2010년 제주 한․아세안 특별정상회의 공로 <외교통상부 장관상>을 수상하였다.
스메타나 연작교향시 <나의조국> 전6곡 국내초연 지휘(2004), 브루크너교향곡 전 11곡 국내최초 완주 지휘 및 실황음반 등재 및 오스트리아 음악사전에 등재 (2004~2007), 시벨리우스 교향곡 전7곡 국내최초로 완주 하였다.(2008~2009) 한국지휘자협회 이사 및 감사, 한국음악협회 이사, 제주문예재단이사를 역임하였다.

Dong-ho Lee(Symphonic Winds)
Conductor Lee Dong-ho graduated from Linz State University of Bruckner Austria with degrees in conducting and composing. Returning to Korea, he took a major roles in the development of Korean music by serving as the first conductor of the Gyeongnam Opera, chaired Music at Changshin University. He served the third permanent conductor of the Masan Philharmonic Orchestra, and the second permanent conductor of the Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra as well. He has been a guest conductor for more than 100 domestic symphony orchestras including KBS Symphony Orchestra, Seoul City Philharmonic Orchestra, Korean Symphony Orchestra , Busan City Philharmonic Orchestra, Incheon City Philharmonic Orchestra, SuwonCity Philharmonic Orchestra, Daejeon City Philharmonic Orchestra, Daegu City Philharmonic Orchestra, and Gwanju City Philharmonic Orchestra. And he also conducted scores of world-class orchestras, including the Polish Kiel che Philharmonic Orchestra, the Prague Symphony Orchestra in Czech Republic, the Bulgaria Barna Philharmonic and the Russian Philharmonic Orchestra, and Wind Orchestras in Taipei, Taiwan. He participated in the Korea Symphonic Festival hosted by Seoul Arts Center 17 times since 1990 and received favorable reviews. Furthermore, he conducted opening performances in 2000 and 2002 after receiving great fame as the best conductor in the Symphony Festival in 1995. He has attended several concerts with the International Music Festival in Korea with Jeju Philharmonic Orchestra and he has joined as regular guest conductor at the Seoul Arts Center's " 11 A.M. Concert : Best Classics. " program. He was honored with the award of the <1st Artist of the Day> in 1995, from the Korean Music Association and in Ko-Asean Summit 2010. He performed first the whole six songs of My Country the Smetana series in 2004. And he is the first one who released live recordings of the whole Bruckner's 11 symphonies in Korea, which was recorded in Austrian Music Dictionary(2004-2007). He is also the first conductor who played the whole Sibelius’ 7 symphonies in Korea(2008-2009). Served as a trustee and a auditor of the Korean Association of Conductors, a trustee of the Korean Music Association, and the same in the Jeju Foundation for Arts & Culture. Currently serving the permanent conductor of the Symphonic Winds of Seo-guipo Cheju and an organizing committee of the Jeju International Music Festival.
